Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are your officiants Church Pastors ?

A: We are a ministry of ordained and licensed independent ministers who provide ministerial services to couples and persons of all faiths. Most people seeking the services of a church pastor will request the services of their own church minister. We provide the same ministerial services, to persons of all faiths, who are seeking an alternative to a justice of the peace, those who will not be using the services of their own church pastor, those who are not members of a church, and those who are unable to marry within their own church or religion due to divorce or pre-marital cohabitation.

Q: What should I consider when shopping for an officiant?

A: The most common mistake most couples make when shopping for an officiant is basing their decision on price alone. An officiants fees are generally in direct relation to his or her expreience and ability to properly provide the services you are asking of them. When you consider cost, your officiant is already the least expensive but most important service provider you will hire, because without him or her you can't be married. With this thought in mind there is much more than price alone to consider when selecting an officiant. Personality, experience, integrity, and will they perform your wedding the way you want or do they have restrictions? Do they have any references? Every officiant is different, but this person will play an important role in your wedding and will set the tone for the entire ceremony. Not every officiant is a match for every couple, so its important to choose an officiant you feel good about and who supports your wishes. Taking the time to consider these things can save regret down the line from a cheap deal gone horribly wrong. Our goal is to continue to provide consistent quality and personal attention to each couple for an affordable and reasonable fee. We're not the least expensive but we're certainly not the most expensive. We'd much rather work with you and your budget to provide a quality service, if what we provide is what you need and want, than to ever have cost alone be the deciding factor.

Q: How long will it take for my Marriage Licensed to be returned?

A: Officiants in Texas are required to return the completed marriage license to the County Clerks office within 30 days of the date of the ceremony. Depending on how soon your officiant filed the license and how busy the County Clerk's office is at the time, the process may take as few as two weeks to as long as six to nine weeks. On extremely rare occasion we have seen it take slightly longer. Once your officiant has filed the license with the State, he or she can't do anything to speed the process, however, if for insurance reasons you need proof of marriage during your waiting time please contact us and we will be glad to fax an official letter to your insurance representative on your behalf.
